The UAV laser methane telemeter can detect trace methane gas in the air from a distance without contact, quickly find potential leakage points, and effectively avoid fire, explosion and other safety accidents caused by leakage.

 

Using TDLAS principle of tunable semiconductor laser absorption spectroscopy, tunable semiconductor laser can emit laser with variable wavelength. These lasers are characterized by a very narrow line width, and their wavelength can be adjusted by changing the injection current. By adjusting the injection current of the laser, the wavelength of the laser can be scanned over a specific range that includes the absorption peaks of the molecules of the gas being measured, such as methane. When the wavelength of the laser sweeps past the absorption peak of the methane molecule, the methane molecule absorbs the energy in the laser. The ability of each gas molecule to absorb a particular wavelength of light is determined by its molecular structure and energy level. According to the Bier-Lambert law, the absorption of light by gas molecules is proportional to the concentration of gas molecules. Therefore, by measuring the degree to which the laser light is absorbed, the concentration of methane gas can be deduced. Laser methane telemeters determine the presence and concentration of methane by analyzing absorption in a gas sample. Because methane molecules selectively absorb specific wavelengths of laser light, the concentration of methane gas can be accurately determined by precisely measuring the degree of laser absorption.
